In this episode of Oklahoma Gardening we travel to Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City to see how they are creating an urban forest. Sam Grimmett, an Arborist for Scissortail Park, gives us some tips for maintaining new trees and cool facts about the park.

Tyler Boyd, Horticulturist and Beekeeper for Scissortail Park, tells us how they are raising bees for honey and education.

Segment 3 (12:55)
At the West Watkins Research and Extension Center in Lane, Oklahoma, Jim Shrefler, a Horticulture Specialist, sees what's buzzing around a study that's providing summer buckwheat nectar resources for honey bees and other pollinators.

Segment 4 (17:15)
At the OSU Insect Adventure Emily Geest, a student in Integrative Biology at OSU, plots the paths of the monarchs.

Segment 5 (20:00)
And OSU Turfgrass Specialist, Justin Moss, takes us on a tour of different turfgrass types that are perfect for the Oklahoma lawn. Some grasses that Justin mentions is: bermudagrass, buffalograss, tall fescue, zoysiagrass, St. Augustinegrass.
