Researchers at Oklahoma State University are making advancements in Health Smart Garment technology that will assist physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Biomedical scientists, industrial engineers, textile engineers and business professionals are creating a comfortable garment with sensors that monitor patient vital signs at home and allows early disease diagnosis. Steven Wood, CEO of Cowboy Technologies, discusses the application of this research toward commercial opportunities and Dr. Bruce Benjamin discusses the collaborative nature of the project, which involved several colleges and schools within OSU. Dr. Brek Wilkins and Dr. Satish Bukkapatnam talk about the experiences, both positive and negative, of the project participants.
