Welcome to Oklahoma Gardening!
Houseplant Soil Toppers
Host Casey Hentges shows us the benefit of adding decorations to our houseplants. Not only can soil toppers help prevent splash-back, but certain toppers can even improve soil overtime and help weigh down top heavy pots.
Frost Pockets
Becky Carroll, OSU Fruit and Pecan Extension Specialist, warns us about frost pockets we can find in our landscape and how these colder areas can effect the fruit production on our trees.
Cool Season Crops
Casey is in the garden succession planting some cool season crops in our raised bed. This way we can always have produce growing as we prep the rest of the garden for the upcoming spring.
Easy Access Raised Bed
Steve Upson, a retired Horticulture Consultant from the Noble Research Institute, shares with us his newest recycled tire raised bed creation. This bed is meant to be a permanent installation in the backyard and tall enough to easily reach our plants.
You can learn how to build this raised bed and others like it on our website:
