The IFSTA editorial and instructional developers were pen pals with 2nd grade students from Fogarty Elementary (Guthrie, Oklahoma) to encourage the development of writing skills. During this past school year, the students were in constant hand-written communication with FPP staff about fire safety and life interests. To celebrate the student's hard work and dedication, they were able to meet their pen pals in person, toured FPP's facilities and got to try on firefighter gear! It was a fun and touching event that both the students and grownups won't soon forget.
